# Solus Decor > Solus Decor Inc. designs, casts and hand finishes modern concrete gas fire pits, water features and fireplace surrounds in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and ships worldwide. Solus Decor manufactures its products from ultra high performance, fibre reinforced concrete, which is hand cast and hand finished at its own facility in New Westminster, Canada. The brass cross-jet burners are designed and built in house and each one is individually tested before it ships. Solus fire pits are certified as complete appliances rather than as burners fitted into an uncertified surround. This matters for commercial specification, where many jurisdictions now require the whole unit to be certified. This site, solusdecor.com, serves the United States, Canada, Australia, South America and the Caribbean, with prices in CAD and USD. Solus operates three other websites for other regions, listed at the end of this file. All four are the same company. ## Key facts - Legal entity: Solus Decor Inc., Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Sister companies are Solus Decor UK Ltd. (Great Britain) and Solus Decor Spain S.L. (Europe, Middle East and Africa, opened 2021). - Founded: 1998. Expanded to the United Kingdom in 2014 and to Spain in 2021. - Scale: shipped to more than 30 countries with roughly 9,000 installations to date. - What Solus makes: gas fire pits and fire tables, water features, fireplace surrounds and mantels, concrete tiles and panels, and replacement parts for its own burners. - Material: ultra high performance, fibre reinforced concrete made from cement, aggregate, colour and recycled fly ash. Hand cast and hand finished. Not GFRC. - Colours: 12 standard colours. Arbutus, Cinder, Halva, Linen, Nori, Nutmeg, Pistachio, Portland, Portobello, Rosé, Shiitake and Truffle. - Fuel: natural gas or liquid propane. Some models are also offered in ethanol in the United Kingdom and Europe. - Ignition: Manual (also called match lit), Manual with Flame Supervision, and Electronic. These are ignition types, not model names. - Heat output: burners run from 60,000 to 108,000 BTU depending on model and ignition type. Per model figures are listed in the fire features section below. - Certification: certified as Outdoor Decorative Gas Appliances to Canadian CSA 2.41-2014 and American ANSI Z21.97-2014. Also carries CE certification to EN 509:2000 and EN 60335-1:2001, and UKCA. The production facility is inspected on an ongoing basis by the external certification body. - Installation: natural gas connection must be made by a licensed gas fitter, and electronic ignition models also require a licensed electrician. - Lead Time: Standard lead time for Solus concrete products, including modern fire pits, water features, fireplace surrounds, and tiles, is 4–6 weeks. Select in-stock models may be available for expedited shipping, which can reduce the lead time, subject to current inventory and seasonal availability. Warehouse at 109 Braid Street, Building C, New Westminster, BC V3L 5H4. ## Warranty terms, stated in full Fire features, from the Solus Limited Product Warranty for natural gas and liquid propane fire pits, version 20260603PW: - Brass burner and components: 25 years - Concrete firebowls: 10 years - Concrete vessels other than firebowls: 5 years - Flame supervision components (auto shutoff gas valve, thermocouple, universal pilot): 3 years - Electronic ignition components (dual solenoid valve, intermittent pilot assembly, sensor assembly, ignition control, spark wire, wiring harness): 3 years Water features, from the Solus Limited Product Warranty for water features, version 20250908LPWWater: - Pump: 2 years - Concrete vessel: 2 years The 25 year period covers the brass burner and its components only. Concrete firebowls are covered for 10 years and other concrete vessels for 5 years. Solus does not offer a 25 year warranty on concrete. Warranty obligations extend to the original purchaser at the original place of installation and are non-transferable. The purchaser is responsible for annual maintenance in line with the Solus care and maintenance procedures. Conditions that commonly decide whether a claim succeeds, from the same two documents: - Registration. The Product Registration Form is to be completed at the time of purchase, and in any case returned to Solus or completed online within 30 days of installation. Unregistered products and installations are excluded. - Covers. The fire pit must be covered whenever it is not in active use. Water ingress is the leading cause of burner and ignition system faults and may void coverage. Burner failure caused by not using a supplied lid or cover, evidenced by water ingress, is excluded. - The standard warranty applies to both domestic and commercial installations. - Solus does not provide onsite repair, visits or service. Warranted parts are replaced free of charge, but the customer is responsible for crating, shipping, handling, re-installation labour and disposal costs, and for diagnostic, fault finding, removal and reinstallation costs. - Damage in transit must be reported to Solus within 48 hours of delivery. - Installation must be carried out by a certified person or organization, and registration must record the professional licence numbers of the required technicians. - Fire tables and bowls are not designed for seating. Damage from excessive loads is excluded. - Water features must be drained over winter in line with the care and maintenance guide.
